Holidays
Overview
The Holidays feature in Lune Auto Trader lets you create a global list of non-trading days to prevent your strategies from executing on market holidays. This helps you avoid placing trades during days with low trading activity or when markets are closed, which can lead to errors or slippage.

Functionality
The Holidays interface is a simple utility panel with the following options:
Add Holiday
Opens a date entry window where you can input a holiday in YYYY-MM-DD
format.
Remove Holiday
Removes a selected holiday from the list.
Close
Closes the Holiday Manager window.
When a strategy has its holiday filter enabled, it will not process any signals or submit trades on any date included in this list.
How to Add a Holiday
Click “Add Holiday”.
In the popup window, enter the date using the format
YYYY-MM-DD
. Example:2025-12-25
for Christmas Day.Click “Save”.
The holiday will now appear in the main list.
How to Remove a Holiday
Select a holiday from the list.
Click “Remove Holiday”.
The date will be deleted from your holiday schedule.
How to Activate the Holiday Filter for a Strategy
Adding a holiday to the list does not automatically apply it. You must enable the filter for each strategy individually.
Go to the Account Configuration window and click "Edit" on the desired strategy.
Find the Holiday Filter setting and enable it.
Save the strategy settings.
Best Practices
Add all known market holidays in advance to avoid unexpected execution during off-hours.
Review and update the holiday list at the start of each calendar year to align with your preferred trading sessions or prop firm compliance schedules.
For traders operating across time zones, ensure your operating system time and timezone are set accurately to match your market region.
Examples
U.S. Market Closure
Add 2025-07-04
to block trading on Independence Day.
Christmas Break
Add 2025-12-25
to skip trades during the holiday season.
Prop Firm Rest Days
Use the feature to avoid violations of rules that restrict trading on low-volume days.
