Dashboard Settings

Overview

The Dashboard is an optional overlay that provides a real-time snapshot of your strategy's performance directly on your TradingView chart. It is designed to visually summarize key statistics and allow users to assess trade behavior, profitability, and risk metrics at a glance.

This section explains how to enable the dashboard, customize its appearance, and understand each performance metric.

Enable Dashboard

Toggle to show or hide the strategy dashboard on the chart. When enabled, a table displaying live performance stats appears in the selected position.

Dashboard Text Size

Adjusts the font size of all text in the dashboard. Options include Auto, Tiny, Small, Normal, Large, and Huge.

Dashboard Position

Sets the location of the dashboard on the chart. Positions include: Top Left, Top Center, Top Right, Middle, and Bottom variants.

Performance Metrics Displayed

Each strategy tracks and displays the following statistics in real-time within the dashboard:

💲 Net Profit %

Total return as a percentage of the initial capital, calculated using: (Net Profit / Initial Capital) * 100. Color-coded green (positive) or red (negative).

Closed Trades

The number of trades fully closed since strategy initialization.

⚖️ Win Rate

The percentage of winning trades relative to total closed trades.

🗠 Profit Factor

Ratio of gross profit to gross loss. A value above 1 indicates profitable performance.

🔻 Max Drawdown %

The largest peak-to-trough decline as a percentage of the maximum capital reached. Helps measure risk exposure.

💰 Avg Trade Profit %

Average net profit per trade as a percentage of initial capital.

🕓 Avg Bars in Trade

Average number of bars a trade remains open. Useful for understanding trade duration and responsiveness of the strategy.

Each metric cell in the dashboard is dynamically color-coded:

  • Green indicates a strong or healthy metric

  • Red suggests the value may need review or indicates potential risk

Best Practices & Usage

  • Enable Only When Needed: The dashboard is optional and may be disabled to reduce visual clutter or optimize chart space.

  • Use Color as a Quick Filter: The dashboard color-coding system helps visually highlight strong vs. weak areas in your strategy performance.

  • Combine with Backtest Data: Use the dashboard alongside TradingView’s built-in performance summaries for a comprehensive analysis.
