Tradovate
Overview
Lune Auto Trader integrates directly with the Tradovate futures trading platform via its API. This allows for a powerful, web-based automation experience that does not require any local desktop software like NinjaTrader. By connecting your Tradovate account, you can automate your TradingView strategies with high-speed execution for your personal or prop firm accounts.

Prerequisites
Before you begin, please ensure you have the following:
A live Tradovate account funded with at least $1,000.
An active subscription to the Tradovate API Access Add-on.
Your Tradovate username and password.
Your generated API Key (CID and Secret).
Setup Guide
Follow these steps to get your API key from Tradovate and configure it in Lune Auto Trader.
Step 1: Subscribe to Tradovate API Access
Log in to the Tradovate Web Trader platform.
Click on Application Settings in the top-right corner.
Select the Add-Ons tab.
Find "API Access" and click the Activate button to purchase the subscription for $25/month. You can pay with your account balance or a credit card.
Step 2: Generate Your API Key
After subscribing, return to Application Settings and click on the API Access tab.
Click the Generate API Key button.
You will be presented with a user self-attestation and a digital agreement. You must read and agree to these terms to proceed.
Give your API Key a descriptive name and set the permissions to Full Access.
Click Generate.
Your API Key, consisting of a CID and a Secret, will be displayed.
⚠️ Important: This is the only time your Secret will be shown. Copy both the CID and the Secret immediately and save them in a secure location.
Step 3: Configure Lune Auto Trader
Open Lune Auto Trader and click on the Platforms button.
Select Tradovate from the list.
Click Add API Key.
Enter a descriptive name for your API key (e.g., "My Tradovate Live").
Enter your Tradovate username.
Paste the CID and Secret you saved from the Tradovate dashboard into their respective fields.
Select the appropriate Environment (e.g., Live or Simulation).
Click Save.
Your setup is now complete. You can test the connection and begin automating your strategies.
Best Practices
First Order Approval: When Lune Auto Trader places its first order on your behalf, you may receive an "access denied" error and an email from Tradovate asking you to approve the new device. Once you approve it, everything should work as expected.
Verify Your API Key: When copying your API key from Tradovate, it's a good practice to first paste it into a simple text editor (like Notepad) to ensure no extra spaces or characters were added.
Secure Your Credentials: Your API Key provides direct access to your trading account. Treat it like a password and never share it publicly or store it in an insecure location.
